The purpose is for children to look around, observe the nature around them in these areas and explore the great outdoors.

The printables themselves have four different sections. These include:

Today The Weather Is:
Kids can write or draw how the weather is on that particular day. Older children can even write the temperature.

Today I Found:
Draw a picture or write about something that is found. There is also a place to write the date and place.

Draw A Living Thing You Saw:
Older children can write about it, younger children can draw.

Draw A Non-Living Thing You Saw:

These are all simple on the surface, but they are all great and easy ways to encourage children to get outside, explore the world and feel the sun (or rain) on their faces.
