25+ Essential Oil Diffuser Recipes

Estimated read time 4 min read

A diffuser is a great way to get the essential oils into the air. Inhalation is one of the three ways, essential oils can benefit the body. Diffusing is generally the very first thing a new user will try and for good reason. As a new essential oil user this seems the less daunting option.

Today I would like to go over a few diffuser tips and then dive right into what you can diffuse!

The diffuser in my pictures below is one of the diffusers that come with a starter kit from Young Living. If you would like more info on it please see here.

HOW do I diffuse?

Seems like a simple question yes? You need a diffuser, some water and essential oils! It is recommended that you use distilled water for your diffuser to extend its life usage and avoid mineral build up. This greatly depends on your area and the water you have available. I always start with half the amount of water and 1-2 drops of a new essential oil. This is also great is you are diffusing in a small space.

Which diffuser is best?

I prefer an ultrasonic diffuser that uses water to send a cool mist of water and essential oils into the air.

Blending guidelines

When using blends that are preblended for example JOY you are able to add an extra single oil such as Lemon with it in the diffuser. Lemon and Lime, both singles can be added to the diffuser but JOY and STRESS AWAY both already a blend should not be mixed. You will get some weird smells if not reactions as your body tries to make sense of what you are smelling!

Care in selecting your essential oils

A diffuser breaks the essential oils into tiny particles and diffuses it into the air and the environment. This is the reason why it is advised to buy the best quality of essential oils as what you smell is what you insert into the diffuser. The lower the quality of the oil the more certain you are to inhale chemicals into your lungs. What you buy, is what you breathe.
